Over its ten-year run, Britain's Got Talent has seen seven judges grace the panel to decide who or what is the next big thing in British talent.

We've also seen three guest judges step in to help out for a few series here and there when judges have been ill or unavailable.

So who of all of the judges in the decade-long history of BGT is the fairest of them all?

Well, now it's their turn to be judged as we rank ten series of judges from worst to best…

10. Kelly Brook

Sadly, Kelly's ended up bottom of the pile in our BGT judges ranking. Do you even remember her being on the show?

Kelly graced the panel for mere days back in the third series before she was given the boot, apparently helped along by hosts Ant and Dec who weren't fans. It resulted in Kelly slamming the Geordie duo as 'egotistical' as Ant and Dec confirmed in a subsequent interview that Kelly would 'never return' to BGT. They wrote in their autobiography years later that Kelly had asked them what their job was on the show on her very first day, showing she hadn't watched any previous episodes, and years later, Kelly hinted she was still annoyed at her sacking and still had 'no idea' why she was given the boot.

Simon Cowell said at the time it was because the format 'didn't suit' four judges. That's no longer the case though, eh, Simon?

9. Louis Walsh

Louis has made it onto the panel as a guest judge twice – once for series four when Simon was ill and again in series five when David Hasselhoff couldn't attend auditions as he was in pantomime.

While we adore Louis on The X Factor, he's not as stand-out on BGT. But that's probably because for Louis to shine, he needs to be able to say 'you remind me of a young Bryan Adams' or be among Irish singers. Dancing dogs, magicians and silhouette dance troupes just don't lend themselves to this kind of feedback.

8. Carmen Electra

Series six saw Simon joined by Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams. But when Amanda was on maternity leave, Carmen was brought in.

Though she hardly went down a storm with Alesha and David, her chemistry with Si was enough to see her into the eighth position on our list. He was literally like a drooling schoolboy.

7. Alesha Dixon

We'll be honest – we weren't convinced about Alesha when she was first signed up as a judge. Yes she can sing and yes she can dance, but would she gel with Simon and Amanda?

Turns out the answer was a big, fat yes. Alesha is now a firm favourite on the panel and while she might have only made it to the seventh position in our list, it's not a mean feat considering her competition.

6. David Hasselhoff

He was only on our screens for one series back in series five but he still had time to make an impression.

Aside from his Union Jack jacket, our favourite thing about David was his straight-talking and love of saying 'no'. And his blatant drooling over acts.

DAVID ON BGT

Here he says no…

And it's a no again…

Oh, and look, some drooling to round things off…

5. Michael McIntyre

The only bad thing about David Walliams being on the panel is that it means Michael McIntyre isn't. There's no beef (that we know of) between the pair or anything juicy like that, but Si's hardly going to hire two comedians as judges, is he?

When Michael sat on the panel for series five, we laughed every single week. It was basically like getting to watch him do stand-up every Saturday.

Our stand-out moment has to be when he buzzed off a young wannabe-comic for saying his favourite comedian was Harry Hill.

4. David Walliams

David's been a judge on the show as many years as Alesha – five – but it's his effortless humour and camp chemistry with Si, followed by his ability to show a super serious side and get all choked up at the drop of a hat, that really wins us over.

He's also incredibly genuine when he's giving acts his feedback which only makes us love him even more.

Plus, this:

3. Amanda Holden

(Picture: ITV)

Being the longest-serving judge of Britain's Got Talent, as well as the only TV judge Simon Cowell has NEVER sacked, Amanda Holden was always going to make it near the top of our list.

She's as sweet and caring as she is funny and sassy and of all the judges, she's the only one who's ever been able to always, always, always put Simon Cowell right in his place. She's the girl-next-door whose long service on the show only makes her a better judge each year and BGT wouldn't be BGT without her.

2. Simon Cowell

Returning to screens with the king of TV talent shows Simon Cowell, the joker of the pack David Walliams, alongside the one who's seen it all, Amanda Holden and the queen of cool, Alesha Dixon, the popular judging panel have been stunned, entertained and moved to tears on their hunt for the best talent around. This was a tough one. How do you put Simon in a ranking of talent show judges WITHOUT putting him at the top? He's sharp, never holds back, has a wicked sense of humour, he's not afraid of showing he's in a bad mood, is nearly always fair, he's seen it all and, above all, he knows his stuff.

Si's provided us with more funny moments than we could possibly mention in this… In actual fact, it's Simon who helped our winner bag the spot. We'll get onto that in the next bit….

1. Piers Morgan

FROM TALKBACK THAMES/SYCO TV FOR ITV1 STRICTLY EMBARGOED UNTIL 00.01 ON TUESDAY 7TH APRIL 2009. Coming soon to ITV1 BRITAINS GOT TALENT The Buzzers are Back! ITVÕs hit entertainment show, BritainÕs Got Talent returns for a third year following an incredible series which saw over 14 million viewers tune in to see George Sampson crowned the 2008 winner. Hosted by Ant and Dec, with Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden on the judging panel, the show once again travels the length and breadth of the UK in search of BritainÕs best talent. The JudgeÕs quest is to find BritainÕs top talent and the only rule is that there are no rules! The show is open to any performer, any age, from any background, with any talent. All they need is a talent that they think will impress not only the Judges, but ultimately Her Majesty the Queen, as the winner gets to perform at this yearÕs Royal Variety Performance, as well as walking away with a life changing £100k. From dance troops and singers, to singing dogs and break dancing OAPs, magicians to comedians, acrobats to burlesque dancers, the UK has continued to deliver the goods. Audiences should prepare to be thoroughly entertained by a wealth of wonderful, wacky and often plain weird acts. But at the same time, be ready to be bought to tears by the emotionally charged performances as the acts try to prove to the Judges, and often themselves, that they have what it takes to be crowned BritainÕs top talent. With only a few minutes available, the actÕs donÕt have long to impress. Each Judge has a buzzer in front of them, when they press their buzzer a corresponding red cross will light on the stage, once all three buzzers have gone off the contestantÕs time is over. For some of the acts the walk on stage lasts longer that their performance! As with previous years the public are allowed access to all the audition venues in all the major cities around the country. And although the audience canÕt buzz the acts out like the

Piers is our number one (Picture: ITV)

It could only be Piers.

For three far too short years we were lucky enough to have Piers be the one to judge British talent alongside Amanda and Simon – our other two favourite judges.

While he might not have had a 'talent' such like Simon or Alesha's music background or David or Michael's comedy, one thing Piers has is a mind of his own that comes complete with a sharp, no-nonsense tongue, an unrivaled wit and the ability to banter with the best of them.

His bullish Britishness was perfect for a show all about British people and he was also never afraid of looking the fool and had an ideal schoolboy double-act with Simon. In fact, their more modest bromance was one of the reasons we loved Piers on the show so much.

Last of all, let's not forget Piers gave us one of the funniest moments in BGT's ten-year history. Air guitar, anyone? Anyone who can make Simon laugh like that is a winning judge in our eyes.

We should also add that Ant and Dec have guest-judged on the show when Simon was taken ill in the eighth series. They win everything anyway, so they didn't make it into this list.
